On the northern edge of New Songdo City’s Central Park, Central Park II is comprised of one 50 and two
45-story residential towers, rising above an urban street edge of two and three-story commercial and retail
buildings. The innovative design challenges the consistent, vertically extruded form of towers typical to Korean
residential construction by creating a south-facing, shifting glass volume in front of a north-facing cast stone and
aluminum volume. Unique residences are located in the shifting glass form, whose glazing panels are reinforced
and shaded by a diagrid of aluminum fins.
Central Park II creates a series of landscaped roof terraces at the commercial, low rise buildings, accessible as amenity spaces from the residential towers.
